I’ve never done yoga, what do I need?

Bring yourself, dress comfortably in clothing that allows you to move, and a water bottle if you think you would want it. We offer complimentary water and top of the line yoga mats, props, and other equipment for you to borrow while you practice. We will talk you through the practice every step of the way and are happy to answer any questions you may have. Worried about looking like the newbie? Not a chance – we are ALL still learning.

Do I need to bring a mat?

If you would like, but we do offer top of the line Manduka products for you to borrow as you practice. Love a product you’ve used with us? We have items available for purchase, and can always order you something in a specific color or style!

Can I bring my teenager/kid to class?

There are so many benefits of yoga for children, and our owner/instructor does offer childrens classes (and even parties/events!) on a small group, as requested basis for students of all ages. That being said, out of respect to the other clients we would ask that you only bring children that are of an age that you confidently feel can move through a class quietly for an hour without creating a disruption. Our owner began practicing at the age of 12 when she attended adult classes and strongly believes that yoga for teens and tweens is incredibly beneficial. We welcome interested younger students with open arms!

 My ___ hurts or was injured… can I still do yoga?

Yes. BUT, have you also talked to your doctor? We can offer you modifications to help work around the pain, and stress that you listen to your body and respond/modify accordingly. However – we are yoga instructors, not doctors and are not qualified to diagnose any issues and are not privy to your full medical history. Please disclose any information or issues that you believe may be a problem within your practice and we will do our best to keep you safe and comfortable. However YOU are your best advocate, and we are unqualified to offer serious medical advice.

I am pregnant, can I still do yoga?

Yes. What an exciting time! There are many modifications and things you should/should not do at various stages in your pregnancy. In order for you to receive the full benefits of yoga, we would recommend that you seek out a prenatal yoga class. We are happy to offer a number of trusted local recommendations. While we can technically keep you safe in our yoga classes, you will benefit MUCH more from a class specifically designed around your needs.
