Lynné Filion is a yoga instructor and teaching artist living and working in Downingtown, PA. She has her BFA from Moore College of Art and Design and teaches art to elementary and middle school aged students in a number of locations in Chester County. She often combines her artistic background with her love of yoga with an Elementary Yoga and Art Curriculum she has developed and taught at various public schools in the area including Unionville Elementary, Chadds Ford Elementary, and Pocopson Elementary. In addition to that, Lynné teaches yoga privately and publicly at various gyms, studios, community centers, and corporations. Her students range in age from preschool to adult, with each class specifically designed around the student’s goals and needs. She has taught for 3 years and has practiced since she was 12. She holds her 200 hour RYT in Hatha Yoga, with additional certificates in Restorative Yoga, Meditation, Children’s Yoga, and Trauma Sensitive Yoga. She enjoys teaching gentle and beginner classes just as much as more vigorous ones; she is always adapting classes to be accessible to everyone in the room. She enjoys working with private clients to help develop their practice and meet individual needs, and works one on one with athletes to improve balance, flexibility, strength, and mindfulness. She was recently selected for Yoga Alliance’s Community Service Award for her yoga outreach in Coatesville and the Chester County Youth Detention Center. Lynné loves the transformative capability of yoga and enjoys sharing it with her students both young and old. She is currently pursuing her 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher designation alongside an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist designation.
Along with holding my BFA, I am independently insured as a yoga teacher and background checked in a number of ways to work with children. I have worked with children in a number of contexts from babysitting to teaching for the past 10 years. I have received my 200 hour YTT training and am Yoga Alliance Certified. I have received additional training for Children’s Yoga Instruction from Child Light Yoga, Restorative Yoga Training, Meditation Teacher Training, along with Trauma Sensitive Yoga Training. I continue to learn, read, and attend trainings as much as possible in an effort to provide the best instruction and classes possible.
I was recently nominated for and won the Yoga Alliance Open Heart Award for my art and yoga outreach with various non profits in the community. I am honored, and inspired to continue this work!
